What is this BioCharger thing???

What is this BioCharger thing???, HOLISTIC HEALTH SERVICES in NEW PORT RICHEY, FL

Here at HHS, we introduced the BioCharger in late spring.  Honestly, we mostly call it the "flux capacitor" (from the movie Back to the Future) for its futuristic look and purpose.  While it can't really transport you back in time, it CAN address a lot of today's current physical issues.

The BioCharger combines multiple energetic and vibrational frequencies to treat the body at a deep, energetic level.    Over 1200 conditions have been addressed by this healing modality, with about 50 conditions pre-loaded into the system.  Some of the conditions we're seeing success with include tinnitus, sleep issues, tendon/joint/ligament/bone issues, prostate, skin issues, neuro-inflammation, and a variety of others.

While this machine is not intended to replace conventional medical care and per the usual disclaimer, is not intended to diagnose or cure any medical condition, we have been very pleased with responses so far.

The first visit is complementary, so you can experience the ultimate in passive healing therapy.  Just sit and feel better!!!

What About This Virus?

Well, we are now approximately 18 months  into the coronavirus breakout.  The original "Stay home for 2 weeks to stop the spread" has now turned into much longer.  While numbers of cases continue to be discovered each day, the numbers of deaths and hospitalizations have been declining in many places.    Unfortunately, it would appear that spikes are occurring again in some regions, regardless of vaccination status.

Many of us have had loved ones affected by the virus, and some of us have lost loved ones all too soon to this unusual disease.  Coronaviruses have been around for centuries, but this one has an unusual "spike protein"  that made it harder for the body's immune system to handle.    There's a lot of speculation over how it got there.  Some say it evolved naturally from a bat; many say it actually came from a virology research lab in China that studies bats.  Some say it accidentally infected the human population; some say it was intentional.  With all the talking heads and cross-chatter, it's impossible to know.

We are learning more every day, but unfortunately, the atmosphere around it is highly politically charged, with everyone doubting everyone else.    Social media platforms have deleted professionals (and unprofessionals).    Politicians appear to be using treatment protocols denied to the general public, while profiting from pharmaceutical investments in treatments ascribed to the general public.

So what can you do?  How do you manage it?

At the risk of sounding trite, you do what you can:  eat healthy, stay hydrated, love your family, be kind to others, and--if you have a spiritual practice---pray and meditate on the positive things of life.  Maintain an "attitude of gratitude".  Look for something every day that makes you glad to be alive!  All of us lost something this last year---loved ones, income, a sense of security.  Remain grateful for what you have.

If you want to take the shots, take the shots, but please be respectful of those who don't.  If you do not want to take the shots, don't take them, but please be respectful of those who do.  Everyone has a reason for their decision, and they are all valid.  Let's not lose our humanity over a virus.

We will help you here at Holistic Health Services any way we can.  Massaage helps eliminate built-up toxins, even from stress, in our bodies.  Acupuncture calms the nervous system and helps boost immunity.  Supplements can strengthen our immune response.

Whatever is happening for you in this unpredictable season, take care of YOU, too.

"You Know I Don't Believe in This"

"You Know I Don't Believe in This"

I hear those words often.    While acupuncture has become more mainstream in the recent years, I heard "You know I don't believe in this" often in my 23 years of practice.  My response is always the same:  "You don't have to believe in it for it to work; you just have to be willing to come in the door."

Acupuncture has become so common that it's extended into the animal kingdom, with racehorses and even show dogs becoming walking testimonials to its effectiveness.  Animals don't have a belief system; they just allow it to work.  That's all humans have to be willing to do.

In 1997, my first year in practice, I worked with a holistic MD in Clearwater.  His office manager came in one day and asked breathlessly if I'd seen the news the previous evening.  I hadn't.  He explained that a group of scientists had mapped out everywhere on the body that an electro-magnetic pulse could be detected.  When they were finished, they laid it over a 3,000-year-old acupuncture chart, and found it was an exact match.

No one seems to know for sure how the acupuncture channels were discovered.  There's a theory that it was discovered on the battlefield, with warriors using sharp-tipped spears that would land in the shin and relieve the opponent's shoulder pain.  There's a theory that the ancient masters discovered the channels, or meridians, after years of meditation.

The truth is that no one seems to know how they were discovered, but they haven't changed in over 3,000 years that we can document, and some suspect, more than 5,000 years.  When Otzi, the 5,300 year old Alpine mummy was discovered, there were 61 tattoos on his body that corresponded with acupuncture points.  We know he had heart and gum disease, gallstones, parasites, and arthritis.  The tattooed marks on his body seem to indicate he was being treated along the same acupuncture meridians that we use today.

Whether Otzi believed in acupuncture or not, I can't say.  But he certainly was willing to try it.

Welcome

by Linda J. Moore, A. P.

Welcome to our website.  I hope to use this space to share some individual thoughts, and ideas, about holistic medicine and its place in today's world.  I'm gratified---and a little mystified----that a 3,000 year old practice like acupuncture is as relevant in the world today as it was then.

As medical treatment costs spiral, acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutritional supplementation, massage, homeopathy, and vitamin supplementation can offer significant relief and improve your daily life, preventing some of those costly medical interventions.

We live in a modern, busy, fast-paced world, but our bodies are pretty much as they were originally engineered.  The mental and emotional stresses of today have replaced a lot of the physical stresses of previous generations.  Many of us stare at computer screens instead of furrowed fields, and we left-click incessantly instead of chopping wood.

There is a huge difference in how that affects our bodies and minds, but acupuncture can still help the body adapt and thrive by activating self-healing mechanisms and assisting a smooth flow of energy, or qi (pronounced "chee") internally. In Western terms, we know that acupuncture increases your body's levels of endorphins (your natural pain killers) and white blood cells (your body's healing cells).  The stresses are different, but a 3,000 year-old practice still works!
